(Oct. 21, 2007) – The University of Connecticut football team (6-1, 2-0 BIG EAST) is ranked No. 23 in the latest Bowl Championship Series standings announced on Sunday night by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. It is the first ever appearance by the Huskies in the weekly rankings that ultimately determine which schools play for the national championship.

goodbye finny
carey got a new car. finny is sitting in front of the house, waiting to be demolished. after all of the hours of work we spent on it. all the carefully chosen quotes.
i'll see if i can get some shots before jeff takes it into work.
goodbye finny, you were a wonderful outlet for pent up emotion. even if you did only go up to 50 mph and always sounded like the e-brake was on. and had windows that wouldn't roll down. and who cares if you didn't have doors that shut properly - you had character.

jenn's wedding, a teaser
i have lots of pictures from my sisters wedding this past august that i will get around to throwing up here, but as a teaser, i'm putting up one of my top 3.

For those of you who don't know Bill Simmons, I may have to do a "Best of." He writes for ESPN, and is a Masshole (like all the best people are). This was from his mailbag last week.

SG: That was the belated winner of the "Funniest J.D. Drew related e-mail during the four-month stretch of the 2007 season when every Red Sox fan hated him" award. Now we're good with J.D. He's had some solid moments the past few weeks. Everything's fine now. I keep telling myself this.

525,600 minutes
It’s only been two days since I dropped Eamon off at the airport and I’m pretty miserable. His flight to Thule was delayed out of BWI, so I wasn’t sure when I would hear from him or if he was okay. I finally got a call at 1:30 in the morning.
I’ve been trying to keep busy as much as possible, but it hits me hard whenever I give myself a minute to think about it. Everyone says a year is not that long, but what do they know? That is probably the last thing I want to hear right now. It’s been 48 freaking hours and its way too long.
525, 600 minutes: how do you measure a year?
In late-night phone calls I hope.
